There is no agony like having an untold story inside you.”- Maya Angelou. I am passionate about self-discovery, exploration and healing. When I think about the darkest moments that individuals have experienced, I know how powerful it can be to have someone there providing support and encouragement to be your best and most authentic self. Because the world we live in consists of regular challenges it can be overwhelming and confusing. I want to walk alongside people on their journey of healing and impart hope to help them get the most out of life as possible
I have been providing empathetic and insightful evidence-based professional psychotherapy to first responders and individuals struggling with trauma and physical conditions both acute and chronic and how it relates to their mental health for over 15 years. I have experience with youth and adults who struggle with trauma, self-harm, depression, anger, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. These struggles include but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma and other significant mental health challenges.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT). I completed my master’s degree in Counselling at Athabasca University in Alberta. My undergraduate degree was completed at Acadia University in Nova Scotia in a Bachelor of Science, in Psychology.
Offering Supervision: I have a limited number of spots available for Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) who are working toward full autonomous practice with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT).
What I like to do for fun: Reading, music, hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking or enjoying time with my family and friends and spending time near the ocean out east whenever possible.

Debbie Rubino, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
